Why Do We Care?
Founder’s connection to the problem:
Moving from Samoa to New Zealand at the age of 10 without knowing any English was a difficult experience, but it taught me the importance of perseverance and hard work. Now, I'm inspired to help others who may be facing similar challenges and empowering them to achieve their potential.

At Auckland University, I pursued a Bachelor of Scienece degree, which led me to a successful career with some of New Zealand's largest companies. Now, my focus is on empowering others to create positive change within their own communities
​
Pacific communities in New Zealand face challenges in numeracy and literacy skills, which can make it difficult to succeed in their new environment. However, with determination and support, these communities can make significant progress and achieve their goals. Let's work together to empower and uplift our people.

Fofo was founded on a Samoan proverb: "E fofo e le alamea le alamea"
This translate to mean "solutions for our issues lie within our own communities".

The word "Fofo" translates to English meaning solutions.
​
We believe that the solutions for the Pasifika community lie within the changes we bring about to our own communities.
